SOUTH CAICOS AIRPORT | IMPROVEMENT UPDATES
Major improvements for South Caicos International Airport are underway, and are expected to be completed within the next year. The TCIG has committed an investment of nearly $10 million to the airport improvement project.
The first pahs of work will include the resurfacing and re-edging of the exisitng runway and turnaournd point. A new control tower will also be built during the first phase which will allow for international and night flights.
Phase two consists of the building of a new terminal. The exisiting and partially constructed main terminal will be demolished and a newly designed open-air terminal will be built in its place.
South Caicos airport will remain open during these improvements with minimal impact to current commerical flight schedules.
